Works great with watch band extenders
Haven't used it too much yet, but excited about this remote. The touch screen lets you show whatever angle you'd like and changes the 360 screen as well. Changing shooting modes was also big on my list.I also had concerns about it fitting over a motorcycle or ski jacket sleeve. Here's what you want: ASIN B078ZDFZJR watch band extenders 21mm. (Just copy the B07... into Amazon search)

Easy view easy use
This helps! Just be careful with the strap. But works with the insta360 x4 not sure about the x2, x3 or x5.

This is like magic for my new Insta 360 X4 for snow skiing blogs. Plus adds the GPS speed options
Really happy with this. found that using the small bands strapped around my ski pole just under the grip so I can see the recording and push the start and stop button. Was to pair and connect and using this adds the GPS component fo speed, elevation and other indicators for the X4. Battery life has been basically all day every time we have used it.Plus charges back fast. The charging station is also very small and I carry tin my ski backpack in case it runs out of charge, but has not happened yet.Very happy with this purchase and the value and quality.

Yo tengo la Insta360 Ace Pro 2 y uso específicamente esto cuando estoy corriendo en moto o en bicicleta sin duda alguna es un muy buen complemento y ayuda bastante en la hora de grabar

Very, very good, EXCEPT…
…they made one horrible, almost inexcusable mistake in the design. Why not just go with the industry standard, type “c” charge port? Like EVERYTHING else uses? Why?! Even their other products charge with a type c! But no, they tried to be a little too clever and went with a proprietary magnetic connector that is very finicky, poorly designed, and falls off easily. Plus you get to carry around the extra charging cord instead of just using the cable you already have in your bag. For such a good company that makes well thought out, high quality products, this was a very poor decision in charge port design, and hard to understand. It would easily be 5 stars if not for this major flaw…

gps tracker for your videos
this is a must have if you are attaching your Ace Pro to a chest mount as there is no way to see the screen to frame your shots. It comes with 2 straps, one to wear like a watch and the other to mount to handle bars or a selfie stick. the features it adds toy your videos are great, it will show speed, distance, visual route that was taken as you ride, elevation. it uses a magnetic charging system which is nice because it makes it waterproof compared to having a usb-c charger. Battery life is great, it can be in use up to 6 hours, i will never do 6 hours of videos in one day. It will turn on and off the camera or both camera and remote together. It is a little expensive, but it is worth it to get the shot you want the first time, and not record something to just see the camera was pointing too high or too low, something I've done with a chest mount. The remote will control all the setting for your camera, stop/start recording and take pictures. if you have your camera on a selfie stick you don't need to bring camera close to record, you just hit the record button on the remote. this ia must have in my opinion.

Preview Remote Misses the Mark for Snow Sports
I love the Insta360 X4 camera — it’s honestly given me the best ski videos I’ve ever shot. The image quality, stabilization, and editing features are top-tier, and the whole system is a huge step up from anything I’ve used before. That said, I do not recommend the Preview Remote if you plan to use it for snow sports.I bought this remote specifically for skiing, hoping it would solve two major problems I’ve had:1. Trying to control the camera with gloves on — not easy with the iPhone app.2. Getting consistent GPS data into my videos, which often fails with the app unless your phone is unlocked and the app is actively running in your pocket the whole time (which isn’t practical when skiing). The remote was supposed to solve both issues. But the wrist strap isn’t designed to go over a ski jacket. I had to stretch it to the last hole just to get it on, and on the first chairlift ride, it bumped the safety bar, the strap snapped, and the remote fell off — before I even got to use it.Even more disappointing: I had purchased the $70/year Insta360+ service plan, which advertises extended warranty and replacement. But I found out the hard way that accessories like this remote are not covered — only the camera is. So I was out $150 for a remote I never even got to use.Bottom line: I had high hopes for this remote, but unless you’re planning to use it in perfect, controlled conditions (not wearing gloves, no jacket sleeves), it’s not practical. Save your money or wait for a version with a better strap. I’d happily revisit this product if they fix that, because the idea is great — the execution just didn’t match the use case.
