No longer have to work around in a pile of sawdust
Unbelievable how efficiently is pulls the bulk out of sawdust from a table saw. Very little gets ends up in the vacuum cleaner. No loss of suction.Design is perfect. Compact, portable etc. Only issue would be build quality. Agree with other reviews that the plastic used may not be that great. Have not had an issue with it but seems it will susceptible to breaking and cracking. Poly ethylene OK but acrylic would be perfect.

Does a great job at a low price
In my small wood shop, I needed to continuously clean the filter in my shop vac. I lathe a lot and the dust and shavings would clog the filter faster than a meal from a questionable eatery would run through your digestive tract.Use is simplicity in itself. All that is needed when you purchase is a 5 gallon bucket that you get at hardware stores for paint and such. Simply place the dust collector on the bucket, attach the hoses and that's it. The hose size matches my vacuum perfectly. Please verify what size hose your vacuum has prior to ordering in the event you possibly need an adapter.Pros:Easy to useWorks great (barely anything makes it to the vacuum to clog up the filter)Low costCons:Very light. (easily gets dragged out of position when you try to move the hose from one machine to another)Plastic construction could fail fairly easily if misused. (hose got blocked a few times and I am surprised the unit did not crack from the sounds it made trying to compress itself onto the bucket)Can't seem to get it to snap all the way on the bucket. (This could be due to the bucket itself but it has not caused any operational issues.)In the end, I would recommend to small shop owners on a budget. It will help keep your shop vac cleaner and suction will not be impaired by a clogged filter. I could see this possibly being used when performing other shop vac functions as well.

This separator works well.
This separator works as well or better than other models. I have 2 of the competitors in my shop, so I could compare them. Given the price, it is a much better value. However, the plastic IS very brittle. Mine broke as I was reassembling it after cleaning out the bucket the first time. As Linda stated in another review, their warranty and customer service are beyond belief for an item at this price point. Jack sent me a replacement in just 2 days. Just put the pressure on the bucket, not on the tab. Someone else suggested a clip with a screw, or maybe metal spring clips would help.

Worth every penny!
Works well. Catches 99% of the sawdust and planer chips. Went from cleaning my shop vac filter two or even three times a day to every ten days or so. Snaps ont a standard five gallon bucket. I purchased a clear one to make it easier to see when it needs to be emptied.

Great investment
it works great the day I received it. I have a little bit of a flood in the basement. It was so easy to pick up the 5 gallon bucket then to try to separate the vacuum.

NO NO NO - just stay away. Brittle plastic breaks as easy as a candy cane!
Should have listen to the other reviewer. This is brittle, I mean like nothing I've seen in years. The plastic bowl from the dollar store are more resiliant.I put it on, very carfully, and when I was shifting the shop vack it fell over and BROKE. Just tipping over and landing on the tab broke the feakin tab. Tried to situate it on and found the entire side had a crack. IF you buy it wrap the whole damn thing in about 8 layers of duct tape before you even try to use it. Even the "seal" inside is hard brittle plastic.Waste of money, spend twice as much and hope it's better I say. I plan to silicone it to a bucket I've cut the bottom out of, duct tape the rest of it and just put the bucket itself into a rubber maid bin with a hole cut in it and seal up the bucket.

It works but it’s not perfect
Cons: The materials that the device is made from are too thin. It cracked right away. I have patched it up 2 times. The auction from My shop vac cracked it. It needs re engineered to use tougher plastic. I don’t think it will last a long time. The rubber gasket is not thick enough when snapping it on a bucket it needs to be thicker because there is leakage and sometime the.material spits out the gap.Pros: it works. It does what it’s supposed to and keeps the larger particles in the bucket and keeps my filter much cleaner.I still recommend this for a weekend woodworker. I didn’t have the space for a giant dust collector so this was the closest think I could fit in the garage. It does it’s job but it’s not perfect. I would buy it again if they make the material a bit thicker.

It works well good customer service.
So far so good. I used it for the first time today to vacuum up bird seed. The 5 gallon bucket was at least 2/3 full and the 16 gallon Craftsman shop vac was almost empty! I am pleased with this so far. I hope that it will hold up for a long time, but if not, I hope they will stand behind it like they say they will (I have no reason to believe they won't).I put it on the bucket and the dust separator broke. I contacted customer service by email and they responded a few days later (my only problem with them is that they took longer to contact me than I expected) asking if I wanted a refund or exchange. I responded that I wanted an exchange and I had the new one in a couple days with no need to return the old broken one. I was very pleased to get good customer service from them with no argument or problem.I consider it money well spent on a very effective device.
