The Expedition Mount is an external cage that provide's a secure mounting platform for Defender Roof Racks, Roof top tents, or other accessories. The mount fits both hard and soft top equipped vehicles. It is constructed and finished in the same fashion as the Defender Rack for a perfect match. The Expedition Mount, Defender Series Roof Rack, and mounting kit must all be ordered separately.

Miss leading
Make sure you read between the lines apparently this does not come with the crossbars this is only the brackets. Crossbars have to be bought separately. They need to remove the bars from the photos or explicitly state bar is not included.

Perfect!
These mounts came in powder coated black and matched the smittybilt defender rack. The Yakima round 48” bars were a perfect fit. Easy to install and perfect for the Yakima ski rack.

Bars not included
Leaving two stars because this product is very deceiving. I recommend stating in the product description that the bars are not included. Or perhaps use a different photo. Although these brackets look to be well built and sturdy. I wouldn’t have paid such a high price for simple brackets. Just very disappointed that the bars were not included.
