Good basic set
I bought this set from amazon as damaged but it is just fine for basic shop work. I spent a few minutes sharpening them and these work great.

Watch-out
1. They are Sears Craftsman bits - it says so on each and every one of them.2. They are so rusty it's hard to read the sizes.3. nice boxUPDATEAmazon shipped a replacement and the results are much better, and not Craftsman.(I might have kept the Craftsman if they weren't just dredged from the bottom of the bay)Beware of switched out contents. If you get the proper article, the results are good.

Good bits for a decent price.
For about the same price you can get a set of Freud bits that has three less bits in it. That's not a bad deal either but I think this one stands on even grounds with it.First off, mine were not labeled as Craftsman bits. Didn't need to send anything back, they worked fine out of the box. And a nice box it came in at that. A lovely red shade, very compact, holds all the bits snuggly, and feels sturdy.Secondly, as full disclosure I've never owned nor used other forstner bits until I bought these, so I can't compare and contrast. I can tell you, though, that these seem very sharp and they cut very well through pine, oak, walnut, poplar, and MDF. Haven't used them on anything else yet. I use these every once and a while so I don't know how they'd do under heavy use, but so far so good. There is one flaw, and I suspect this is more related to the 'this is my first set of forstner bits' thing rather than an issue with the bits themselves, but the 7/8" bit has a noticeable crack along one of the serrated edges that wasn't there when I first got it. It's surrounded by a burn mark and a mild bit of discoloration so I suspect that the bit over heated and that caused the crack. I can't ding it too much for what may be user error but it seems to me they should stand up to more abuse than the casual usage I've given them.

Why did you send me junk carbon steel bits rather than what I ordered
I paid for and ordered the titanium nitride coating like all forster quality bits and you sent me junk carbon steel bits that dull in butter. What is the deal? why cant I refuse the order and contact you directly?

Nice Bits
I have used these bits on my 10 inch press and they are precise and smooth. I use little effort when drilling so the bits are very sharp.

Good value
These work just fine and the box is a nice touch. Best on the market? Maybe not, but they work for me and the value is there.
