Reason of my purchase - clearly just for the looks & am pretty satisfied.It has got coated brass finish (like copper water bottle sold now a days - it will have a thin layer of plastic coating that will keep the finish for longer period)Not sure about how long the clock (ticking machine inside) would last - usually fancy clocks will have shorter living machines - as of now it's good - for anyone, if it stops, simply replace the machine - it will cost very less even for a supreme quality oneActually I wanted pure black version - but it's had holes all around - I would have not been this satisfied with that
