Q: What is the total height from the floor to the top of the mic clip if the stand is in its lowest position? I'm trying to find a good stand for kids.

I don't have it available to measure right now, but the discription says 33.5" in lowest position. I believe that is correct. It's a nice solid stand. We are very happy with it.

First of all. Congratulations on your height. I'm 5'-9. When the stand is fully extended the microphone (Shure 58) is pointing at my forehead. So I'm pretty sure with a tube style recording condenser mic, you'd be fine. It's a well made stand and as good as anything you'd buy at the massive guitar store.

Q: Why is this described as having a "boom arm"? I see no boom arm in the pics. (A boom arm connects on a pivot and goes outward at an adjustable angle.)

That is a very good question. If that is the exact item I ordered and received, it certainly does not have any such feature.
