Great product!! Must buy for every homeowner. Have been researching a weeding tool for months and Grandpa Weeder is the best. Has a nice balance works and is sturdy. So easy to use for myself and my 75 year old mother. No more hurt backs!! Perfect length. Pulls large and small weeds with easy. I have not experienced any difficulty with pulling weeds.

Good tool, easy to use, and works nicely - on dry ground. A pain to use, though, on wet ground, where the dirt clumps up in the pincers and requires hand cleaning to perform. Save these for use a couple of days after the rain has fallen. They work remarkably well then.

Wow I wish I'd purchased this fantastic weeder a year ago! It is light and works 1000 times better than the heavier and more expensive weeder we purchased from a local name home improvement store. This tool is so easy to use, and it really grips the weed and successfully pinches and lifts it out - root and all, with very little effort. The other weeder we used didn't grasp the weed and would not pull out the root it usually just cut it below the soil. This weeder pulls out a lot less soil than the other weeder - mostly root. If you have weeds in your yard, I highly recommend you purchase this weeder immediately.

Absolutely fantastic, and to some extent, FUN, product. Works as advertised and simple to use (even for me!).Truly a gotta have for serious gardeners if if you aren't a Grampa, but even better if you are! LOL

This thing is sensational! As soon as I received I went out and tested in a nasty cluster of crabgrass. In a second and without much effort all of it was out. I had been removing these weeds with a machete, a serrated knife, chemicals. Quite tiring and not exactly the best option. This tool is quite solid and it feels it’s going to last. Time will tell. But I’m optimistic.For now I’m looking fwd to go and pull out more weeds. Strongly recommend

I recently ordered the Grandpa’s Weeder item from Amazon. The product was delivered on the date anticipated. As indicated on the product description, the tool is 8 inches by 43 inches and weighs a little over 2.3 pounds. I was rather shocked to find the item had been placed in a box that would easily hold a 45 inch television. Evidently someone just grabbed the first box they could reach. It seemed to be a waste of cardboard.The Grandpa’s Weeder product is very sturdy, with the mechanism being mounted on to 40 inch bamboo pole. Looks much like a shovel handle. The grabber part is tightly secured and overall the items seems to be well build. The Grandpa’s Weeder works by placing the prongs over a weed and there is another prong on the left side that you lean to the left it pulls the plant out by the roots.It appears this product works best with larger weeds. For example, I have areas in my yard with lots of small weeds like Wood Sorrels and Fortune’s Spindle. The Grandpa’s Weeder worked very poorly on these type of plants. However, for larger weeds such as dandelions it works great.In addition, I found that when using the Grandpa’s Weeder the clump of dirt and weed would not fall out into my wheel barrel on its own. You either had to bang the head of the weeder on the die of the wheel barrel or manually pull the stuck dirt and weed out of the claw area. This kind of defeats the purpose of removing the weeds up hand free.So, the bottom line is that thit e Grandpa’s weeder is well designed and is great construction. However, it will not remove small weeds in your yard and the dirt and weeds will not drop off the claws (you will have to manually remove them). I notice that the product description states it should be used on “softer soil types”. I am not sure a typically yard contains many areas of “soft soil”.I plan to keep the Grandpa’s Weeder even though it certainly does not live up to what I was expecting.
