Useful but slightly pricey
I very much enjoy using this light. It gets very bright and the bi-color LEDs are very useful. It is just brighter than most lights of its form factor, but it is also slightly more expensive. Though it is mostly build out of plastic parts, it feels well constructed and I do not have any issues with build quality. The accessories that come with it are very nice. The carrying case is a nice addition along with a very nice ball head. I do wish it had an internal battery that is rechargeable, but the usb-c is very useful to connect to battery packs or other sources. I much prefer the usb-c instead of a DC barrel connector so I am happy about that. I would highly recommend this light. It is slightly larger than some of the competition, but it is very light and realistically not actually that large. It works great for what it is⊠I use it as a video conferencing light and it excess at that.

Great build quality and output in a versatile package.
Aputure has been pretty innovative lately and this light is no exception. Although the light is of plastic construction, the materials are very high quality and I have not had a single issue with these rolling around in the bottom of my camera bag. The multiple power options are really useful as I always have a battery or USB battery pack to run them. The light and color reproduction is perfect. I couldn't ask for more. It is nice to have a seperate switch to pwer the light on, as having a wheel like the previous generation meant that I always had to estimate the proper output in fixed situations. With this light I can set the output and turn it off when done without losing the output setting. The ball head that is included is so good I wish they sold them separately. I'm not kidding, it is that good. It feels like Aputure is really able to make quality lighting products over and over again and learn how to make them better rather than just regurgitate the same garbage like their competitors in each price category. You simply cannot get a more versatile, higher quality or more powerful light at this price.

Mind-blowing features and value! A+++ đđ»đđ»đđ»
I was looking for a decent video light for a very long period of time but just couldn't find "the one". Granted, I came across the video where this light was introduced to the public for the first time. I liked its features very much and had decided to do deeper research and was blown away by its capabilities.I preordered this light, however, I got it just a few days later. Well, this is a very well made light, though, it was made entirely from plastic (that's why $98, not a $298). Quality packaging, decent bag, 2 diffusing filters, upgraded metal stand, generic USB-C cable and the light itself.Color accuracy is superb. I never had such perfect white balance in video works. Very accurate representation. Dimming works perfectly as well, from 0% to 100%, like advertised. It gives you a great flexibility for your needs.Overall, this is my first impression of the light and I really love this thing.This is my first Aputure light and I'm sure not the last one. âđ»

So far, so good.
I havenât really used this LED light extensively, so my review is based from the short amount of time Iâve been using it since the day I received it.I bought this for food video and photography I sometimes do at home. Nothing fancy. Itâs not as bright as those actual studio light, but itâs bright enough for its size. I can only compare it to the Aputure AL-MX, because thatâs the only light I have. Obviously, it is brighter than the MX, in respect to distance, what I mean is that, comparing the MX and F7 side by side with 50% power output, I think the MX is brighter than the F7. But if the subject is feet away, the F7 is brighter. I guess itâs because the F7 is built with those clear dome plastic lenses that help focus the lights in one direction (kinda like a spotlight) rather than the MX that has exposed LED that produces diffused light.I canât say much about this light because it is one of my first LED video lights I bought. But to me, the quality is ok. The built is plastic, but it seems durable. I also love the accessories that comes with it. It came with a ball head mount, which is way better than the MX came with. Two diffusers, one milky, and one a bit clear. And a USB C cable. This doesnât come with a battery so you have to consider that too if youâre buying one.I gave it a 4 out of 5. Because itâs made of plastic. I wish it was made of something more solid. Like the MX.

Small and punchy!
What an amazing little powerhouse! I'm in love with this light. So much so that I want 2-3 more. The value is excellent, the output is solid and the color accuracy is within reason. I found the light to be slight cooler at either end of it's range. When set to 5600 on the panel I get 5800 on an X-Rite color chart -- 3200 on the light output 3500. Also, the warmer the light is dialed, the more magenta the tint. This is totally correctable with 1/8 plus green so I feel that's acceptable. The run time on batteries is awesome. A pair of off-brand Sony NP-F batteries will last for hours! There's really nothing not to like about this light and especially for the price. I intend to use it as edge lighting for shoulders, cheeks and/or hair and it'll also be great as low-level fill and eye-light from camera. If this is what you're needing, this little brute can do it. Bravo Aputure!

A Must for Wedding Photographers
These lights are fantastic. We have shot about 100 weddings with these now. 2 of them plus 2 of the large batteries easily fit in our camera bag, and these have become the go to for most needed lighting. The battery life is great, we can go 3 weddings or so without needing to recharge (not using the entire time of course) and the brightness level is great. Love them, just wish there were some modifiers that were made for these. Color shift slightly green in the warmer ranges, and max brightness is 5600ish (all leds at full power). It goes quite blue which we can use as an accent. We keep 2 in the camera bag and 2 more in the lighting bag.
