So far, so good
Just got this two days ago, so not going to do cartwheels just yet. However, every crucial function is performing as expected so far (you know, like email, texting, phone calls, streaming data, wifi, camera). Also, Android Oreo 8.0 updated successfully without bricking the phone, so that's no small thing. Also, screen resolution is fantastic. I came from the MOTO G5 plus, and was very happy with that screen and skeptical that this one would be noticeably superior, but it is.Got this phone mostly because I wanted a larger screen and NFC, not because the G5 plus was not a really good phone. If I had had the MOTO X4 and not the G5, probably wouldn't have pulled the trigger on this because the x4 has NFC, which is the thing that bugs me most about lower and mid tier phones, most of them don't have or disable NFC, which is obviously more of a marketing ploy than a pure cost decision. The only potential "knock" I'll put on this so far is that this phone tends to get a little "warm", which I will be watching closely over the next few weeks. I had a LG G4 which eventually succumbed to the dreaded "bootloop", and that got not only warm but downright hot, and that was going on right from the start. I don't the same thing is going on here, but we'll see.Anyway, G6 is an impressive piece of work, remains to be seen if it's "reliable".10/1 Quick update: The "heat dissipation" issue seems to have completely abated and for the time being is no longer a concern, phone is not hot or really even warm to the touch.Interestingly, I had read somewhere else that the phone takes a day or two to kind of "settle in" in terms of heat, which seemedkind of curious and unlikely to me but that seems to be exactly what happened with my phone. All things being equal, this is by far the best buy for a phone on Amazon or anywhere else for that matter. I mean, you can'ttouch a flagship level phone with this feature set for $379 bucks.10/8 Update - Still working well, only real "niggle" would be with the battery. It's not awful, but it's far from great, not nearly as "robust" as the Moto G5 plus, which has a crazy awesome battery. I guess when you have a screen as large and demanding as this one, something has to give, and I suppose it's the overall battery life.11/8 Update - Phone works well, does everything it was "advertised" to do.As somebody who had the LG G2, which was a phone that was pretty universally praised, I was hoping that this phone would come up to that standard, but unfortunately I don't quite think it does.I figured that since this phone was 4 years down the line from the G2, it's performance would be that much "crisper", but surprisingly enough it suffers from some annoying video "stutter" when loading and using some apps.Coming from a Moto G5 plus, I thought that the performance of this phone would be a notch higher, but to be honest the G5 plus "feels" like a faster phone, which to me is quite disappointing. And as I had mentioned in the body of the review, the battery on the G5 plus is far superior to the LG.If I could go back in time, I might have taken a shot with the MOTO Z3 play, there's just something about the G6 that I don't love. It's not "bad", and it is a great looking phone with a nice screen, but it's just not as "crisp" as I would expect a premium phone built in 2017 to be.Final notes:It's a good, not great phone. Bought it here when it was $379, since then it's gone down to $359.It's best feature is it's generously sized, bright and sharp 5.7" display, and has all the flagship level features (800 class Snapdragon, dual cameras, facial recognition, wireless charging, NFC.) that you would expect. However, there is just something about it that prevents me from "loving" this phone, and it's hard to pinpoint.Battery life is only "OK", not nearly as robust as the MOTO line, and the overall performance is not as "snappy" as one would expect a "flagship" level phone should be. My MOTO G5 plus can hang with this phone, and it only has a 625 chip.If I could do it all over, I would have just bought the MOTO X4, because my main gripe with the G5 was that it didn't have the NFC chip. So, my final verdict would be this. Unless you just have to have a 5.7 inch screen, I would go with the MOTO X4 on this site. It's only got a 5.2 inch screen, but that is more than adequate for just about anything, and it has NFC, dual cameras, a very solid Snapdragon 630 and it's $150 less. By far the best value out there right now.Feb 3, 2019 update:Stumbled across a quirk in how the battery reports a "full charge" when it actually it's not.Up until a few weeks ago, I used pull the charger out almost immediately after it reported "100% full".This usually resulted in anywhere from an estimated 27 to 29 hour charge according to the G6.Compared to my MOTO G5 plus which sometimes would start off with a 2 1/2 day charge, I thoughtthat was a little chintzy. However, I experimented by leaving the charger in an extra few hours past the "100%" reporting, and have gottenup to 39 1/2 hours on the report. What that tells me is that the calibration for the reporting is way off, and alsowould contribute to the fact that many people report that their battery life is poor (It may be due to the fact that they think their battery is 100% charged when in fact it's only 75% or less.

A nice phone for the price.
First off you need to know that this phone does work on verizon. It is unlocked and it uses a nano sim card and you jave to ise the imei# on the side of the box or losted in the phone settings to activate. I ise straight talk on verizon towers. This is a brand new factory sealed box phone with a 1 year warranty that offers a second year free through emailing as stated with good instrustions om another 5 star review posted. And yes it updated to a new OS when I set it up. The 1 star reviews i read on here did not stop me even though i always read to make my decision buying a product. From my experience setting this up those people talled to misinforming people. Yes my other phone ised a larger sim card because it wasnt a nano sim card. And yes if you ise the #s on the lable on the back of the phone no one will be able to activate it or tell you anything. Use the imei# on the box or in the settings. Also i did have a issue with my amazon music not opening when i tried. To fix this for me I just had to uninstall the app and redownload it. Yes I am a prime member and already had the app on my old phone with a large library of music. Im not sure what caused that to happen to me and the 1 star reviewer I read about this phone. I hope this helps you with your decision on buyong this phone. Not trying to sell it just dont want someone to pay more money for these things to work when they dont have to.

No Verizon activation.
Had to return. My current Samsung sim card was too big. I went to Verizon store to activate and they could not activate. Maybe the specs on line are incorrect? Amazon customer service was super. I read of another issue with a Samsung phone that Verizon said they could not activate. the customer requested that an active SIM card from another Verizon phone put into it to see if it would work. The phone did work and he left the Verizon store and activated it at home. I might have jumped the gun in returning the phone because I really wanted to have this phone. I do have a Verizon prepaid account and I bought an unlocked phone in case I wanted to move to a new carrier. This all occurred because my current SIM card would not fit in the phone.

Very disappointed
This is the 5th LG phone that I have purchased for myself or immediate family. This is by far the worse phone, even worse then the Stylo 2. I am so unhappy with this phone. Had issues from the start. I should have sent it back, but honestly a week or two does not give you enough time to figure out if the phone is good. I honestly am thinking about going back to my LG Stylo. It started out with some glitches. Now the battery doesn't last an entire day. I had a full battery, then two hours later, without any use, it died. I've talked to LG support I don't know how many times. They suggested a factory reset, which if you ever have done one, it sucks! The only other option was to send it to them, which leaves me without a phone, and they will check it out. BUT that doesn't mean they can do anything about it, I'll be without a phone for several weeks. I don't like the changes. I don't like the functions of this phone for the most part. But the battery not lasting a day is crazy.
