great game i'll explain why
i took a chance buying this game and i have no regrets. as a karate kid fan, and a fan of old school type beat em up games, i pre ordered this game when i heard about it on youtube. normally i don't do that, but this is a karate kid game and a beat em up so why not. reviews by some of my favorite youtubers were not kind. some didn't like the game. i didn't let their bad reviews deterred me from getting my own copy. i have been playing this game for over a week after i received it in my mailbox. this is a game LOOSELY based on the 3 Karate Kid films from the 80s. you can play as Ralph, Mr Miyagi, and his love interests, yes, even his girlfriends gets to fight. remember i said this game is LOOSELY based on the films? im ok w/that, remember back in the old days when NES games based on Hollywood films is never like the movies?? like that Rambo game where Rambo was punching a snake and a man sized spider?? so imo, there's a certain charm to video games like this. i haven't finished this game yet, but i have put in many hrs and i enjoyed every minute. this game is esp fun if you have friends to play with. i invited my friend who is also a karate kid fan over to try this game and even he liked it. i feel the hate for this game isn't warranted. yes, the cut scenes are kind of funny and im ok w/it. what do you expect from a budget game? it's good enough imo. there's is a small download required i think it's just around 150mb. it's not much so that tells me the entire game is on the cart which is a plus in my book! this game is made for fans of the original Karate Kid films and it's a game that felt like it was made back in the early 90s for SNES.. the only complaint i have is the price...i don't think this game should have been priced at $40. i say $30 would have been a better price for this game. so, should you buy? if you like old school games AND the old Karate Kid films of the 80s, there's no reason why you shouldn't pick this game up.

You’re Karate 🥋 mean an okay beat’’em up game!
It doesn’t have the pacing of Streets of Rage or Ninja Turtles shredder’s revenge but it’s a good wannabe beat’’em up game with Karate Kid IP stapled onto it! The Controls though are Overkill Button Mashing and you may want to Wax-on,Wax-Off your thumbs 👍 after a handful or two of hours 😂!

Great Karate Kid brawler!
This is a fantastic couch co-op brawler. It is just like the classics, but so much better! You can play up to 4 people at once and each character has unique moves. The story follows the original movies and is tons of fun. There is a lot of replayability here. Our kids have gotten hours of entertainment out of this game and they are nowhere near close to completing the game.

Old School Beat ‘em Up Fun
Bought this game when it was on sale for Switch and man is it fun. Loved the Karate Kid movies growing up (and Cobra Kai TV series now). This game follows many of the plot lines from the first 3 movies, so it is fun to fight folks in the different scenes from the movies. You can use four characters in this game: Daniel, Mr Miyagi, Ali Mills, and Kumiko. Each fighter has their strengths and weaknesses but all are fun. The graphics are delightfully old school yet fresh, and the controls were very easy to learn. Once you go through story mode once, you can unlock other modes. Up to 4 players can play. I probably wouldn’t have paid full price, but the sale price was well worth it. It’s a really fun beat ‘em up in the vain of the old Double Dragon or TMNT, and hopefully playing it makes you forget how bad the original NES Karate Kid was.
