2023 Top Tier Gaming/Office Mouse
Pros:+Comfortable ergonomic shape.+Noticeably lightweight.+Side buttons are located close to the front of the mouse.+Two small programmable buttons on top.+Adjustable lift off distance.+Receiver storage in mouse.+Custom Grip tape and extra mouse skates included.+Settings can be saved to on board memory.+Charging cable is light, thin, and braided in soft paracord.+Charging LED lets you know charging status at a glance.+Pixart 3395 sensor is top-tier for 2023.Cons:-Scroll Wheel movement could be more tactile.-Available in any color you want, so long as that color is black.-Software features could be improved.I highly recommend this mouse for anyone that uses their computer or laptop for dual roles, playing games and also completing office-type tasks. I see it as a top tier mouse for the discerning gamer, yet it still looks as if it fits in a classroom or office environment. The shape and size of the mouse is remarkably similar to the Zowie EC2, and this provides a tried and true comfortable hand grip. The charging cable is light and thin, with a soft black braid on it that remains flexible and doesn't kink up. Additionally, the Kailh SMT Mini Switches, used for the side and top buttons, are a pleasure to use and add the well-polished product feel of the VM600PE. When charging, a small LED next to the rear side button keeps you aware of the charging status, so you don't need to open any software to know when the mouse is ready to go wireless. For the gamer:I believe this mouse if fairly unique in that the side buttons are more forward oriented than competitors, allowing the user to activate the buttons without repositioning the thumb.Gamers will also appreciate the included large top/bottom and small dot mouse skates, which allow the user to fine tune the mouse for low resistance and fast movement or moderately higher resistance for better control.Lastly, optical main mouse switches means this mouse will never experience the dreaded accidental double click issue mechanical switches are notorious for.For office use:I love the two top side small programmable buttons. Myself, I have them mapped to the volume up and down media controls, allowing me to change the sound volume without having to reach for my keyboard controls or navigate to the on-screen task bar.Regarding the software:The adjustable lift off distance allows you to accommodate the small change in height when you replace the mouse skates, or if you decide to use the large skates or stick with the small default dots. There is support for multiple profiles, although curiously there is no dedicated profile switching button, nor is there an option to map any button to switch profiles.DPI changes are automatically indicated by brief color changes, but the software doesn't allow these colors to be customized, as several competitors do.Opportunities:The scroll wheel is very good, but although some people will disagree, I wish it were a tad more tactile. As it is, it scrolls quickly and effortlessly. However, personally, I prefer very tactile scroll wheel movement in game, so that I don't accidentally move too far and change weapons to something I did not intend to.I would also like to see this mouse in a different color option, particularly white. These are very minor items that I would also point out for several competitors, however.A note about Elecom:Elecom is a well known Japanese brand within Japan. I was very surprised when I saw an advertisement for their products here, in the USA. While this product, and many others of Elecom, is manufactured in China, I hold Elecom in higher regard than that of an unknown brand. So if you are thinking the brand name Elecom suggests higher quality than that of an unknown brand, I would agree. For modders/expert users:The optical main switches use a magnetic cube, that creates a deeper sound when activated than that of traditional mechanical switches. If you would prefer a more "spammable" or quieter switch, this can easily be achieved with the introduction of a approx. 2mm x 2mm EPDM rubber square in the magnet cavity, prior to reinserting the magnet.

No support outside Japan.
I have other Elecom programmable mice for PC. I was looking for one that wasn't a trackball for my needs. I chose the VM600PE. Everything loaded well but when I tried to program the buttons I found that I was unable to program a multiple key sequence. So copy, ctrl + c, paste ctrl + v, and anything that required more than one key being pressed was not available. With no ability to write, talk or call support because they only support Japanese, there is nothing that I can do. Why offer to sell this internationally if you have zero support for the product? Their website has English language available for the manual - which isnt included in the box???? Just cant recommend this to anyone outside of Japan, otherwise it would get 4 or 5 stars.
