This would be four stars except that it essentially came apart after being used for a couple of months. It also needs to be positioned on a nice flat piece of ground or attached to a large board or it will not function properly. My chickens would pick around on the ground around it and dig out an area and then weren't able to open it fully or it would catch on the edge of the coop and be stuck open and all of the little neighborhood birds would come eat all the feed defeating the purpose. Eventually I did pop rivet the footplate to the arms because it kept coming off and screws are getting lost in the grass but then all of the other screws started coming out as well even though I did tighten them. I do wish that some lock nuts or something like that would have been included in the assembly parts it might have stayed together a little bit better in the end instead of riveting everything I went ahead and purchased a different style chicken feeder. For the amount of time that it actually lasted I don't think it was a very good value for what I paid.

The thing is just flimsy and made like crap. I received mine today and the edge was scratched, the top was stained and ad it was packaged like a return. No one really cares anymore about value. I am Not spending 44 of my had earned dollars for crappy things. I'll go with a little better design and pay a little more for it. This one was not worth it.

Chickens are not catching on to using this. The balance is too close and it doesn't close all of the way. Step is slick and Chickens fall off easily. Built pretty good though.

These feeders are great! Not expensive, easy to put together and mouse-proof. This is the third one I’ve purchased. The other two are 4 years old now and have survived summer heat, winter snow and high winds. I recommend screwing them down on a board or table to keep them in place since they are lightweight. Two thumbs way up!

Can not put item together pieces missing.

Worked decent buy I had to add a piece of thin aluminum to increase the size of the step plate-this then allows for birds to get closer to the tray that holds the food.
