I owned this songbook in my teens and played these Dan Fogelberg songs for years. This songbook followed me through every major life event, marriage, college, children, moving cities... It was a constant part of my life, and I was heartbroken to discover it had disappeared during my last move. I have thought about replacing it, but I had only found damaged used copies. They just weren't the same. Until I found this one! Mark Tatum with Vintage Book Shoppe listed a perfect description of this songbook. It arrived quickly, well-packaged with a hand-signed note, and has exceeded my expectations. I immediately played through my favorite songs and cannot find words for the joy it brought to me. I love this book! I am a diehard Dan Fan, so the older ones that weren't hits are absolute gems in this book. I am teaching myself the piano, so I love the simple version. I agree with another reviewer about taking it and having it spiral bound. It is a big book!

I had a copy of this 30+ years ago, originally, and wore it out. I was so pleased to see I could order another copy, fully expecting it to have at least a few indications of wear, but this was in nearly pristine condition! Well done!

This was a gift for my mom and she was absolutely delighted to receive it. She doesn't play piano, but I've been meaning to learn how properly, so hopefully I can learn a song or two at least and play them for her. She's a huge fan of Dan and loved seeing the old pictures inside. I recommend getting this for someone who either really likes having Dan Fogelberg merch or just likes seeing old photos, OR get it for someone who loves his music and would really like to learn how to play it.

I am a diehard Dan Fogelberg addict and love this collection. Of course, like all standard collections it does not include guitar tablature and the introductions are shortened. I only wish a "collection" part 2 would come out with the music from High Country Snows, Windows and Walls, Life, River of Souls, Exiles and, of course, no collection could be complete without The Innocent Age. This is a great set and I was glad to find it still available.

The songs in this book are taken from Dan's first 5 albums and Twin Sons From Different Mothers.I evaluated the first two songs and compared the book with the recordings. As a buyer of many such songbooks, I'm not surprised at the lack of instrumental parts, the wholesale lack of vocal harmonies, abbreviated intros, segues, etc. What the book lacks in musical complexity, it makes up for with the many nice photos.While this book tries to fill the niche for Dan Fogelberg lovers, it's really designed for the casual piano and/or guitar player(s).If you buy this book, take it to your local Office Depot or Staples and have them put a coil binder on it so that it stays open.
