Great lock, less than great google nest
Install was quick and easy, it wasn't a perfect match for my door but with some tweaking I made it work. Main issue now is the weather strips on my door are a tad thick so the smart lock has a tendency to stop on the last 1/8th of an inch when locking and so it will say the door didn't lock, even though it did, it's only a sliver short of being fully engaged. That's not the locks fault though. The reason for 3 stars is the Nest Connect that came with it is (hopefully) a faulty model. It worked initially, but about 15 minutes after the full install the connect went offline and was unreachable. I removed it form the nest account and factory reset it, all seemed fine until I want to re-add it to the account, the phone (pixel 4 xl) could no longer detect it. I tried creating a new account, no dice. Tried my wifes iPhone, no dice, tried an iPad, no dice. Tried my kindle fire, no dice. Insert 3 hours of trying everything in a bag of tricks as a network admin with no luck. Ultimately got in touch with Google support and after a brief explanation of the issue and what I had done already to try to fix it they didn't make me go back through any troubleshooting, simply said they'd send me a slip to send mine back and they would send a replacement. If I get a new connect that is fully functional, the review will go up to 5 stars, the lock itself works great and I have zero complaints about that part of the package.Edit: just realized now a year later I neglected to update this. Google sent me a new functional nest extender and all worked after that, so the review.has been changed to give stars.

Who Needs Keys!
We just recently moved into a new home and one of the initiatives that I've been working to do is to reduce the number of keys that I need to bring with me when I’m out of the house! As it stands now with the installation of the Nest x Yale Lock, all I need is the Key Fob for my car, which is amazing! The Nest x Yale Lock is an amazing smart lock and we've gladly added it to our collection of smart home devices! It operates quite well as advertised; we are able to lock it and unlock it using the touch panel and/or using our smartphone devices via the nest app. We also love the feature that we can use Google home to check if the door is locked and even ask it to lock the door for us while home.Installation was for the most part a breeze; however, your mileage may vary depending on the condition/setup of your prior door lock/deadbolt. Fortunately for me, my door cutouts were pretty much a direct match with the Nest x Yale lock set out of the box. Where I did hit a snag was struggling to fully extend the deadbolt to fit properly. At first, it only extended partially, I had to really jiggle and tug to fully extend the deadbolt to get it to fit precisely. As others may have noted, the Nest X Yale lock is very sensitive with regard to the strike plate. I did have to re-adjust the strike plate to ensure that the deadbolt didn't miss as it operates. If you have a loose-fitting door when closed, be sure that you firmly shut your door before having Nest X Yale operate or it may end up missing the strike plate. We've just gotten into the habit of firmly closing the door to ensure smooth operation of the dead bolt.Additionally, bonus feature that we like is the ability to setup guest pins for use which allows us to keep track of who's accessed our home. We also enjoy being able to keep track/see who's operated our door as it's all tracked on the Nest app.Overall, we are quite pleased with how well the Nest X Yale works! It looks beautiful and is adds a refreshing look to our front door but most importantly makes our lives easier. We never have to worry about forgetting our house keys again and that's worth every penny!

THE DOOR LOCK I BEEN MISSING
This door lock is awesome. The style, look, and overall feel are amazing. This meant for dead bolt-only locks. The installation is spot on. It is straightforward to install and once it is installed the lock is very secure. It can be used with Nest or Google apps but I needed help connecting it. I have Google Home but it requires you to use the Nest app for this to work. The unit has no wifi so it connects to this Bluetooth device you need to plug it near the lock if you want to use the app to lock or unlock the device. I am not using the app so all of that is not needed. Just put in your 4-digit code and it locks and unlocks just like any dead-bolt without a key. It takes 4 double AA batteries that come with it. This is a superb dead-bolt lock. Should have gotten this a long time ago. I use this lock on my garage door.
