It does not. If the dog knocks it on it's back the top will flip open. I know from experience.

Q: Do regular store bought kitchen trash bags fit?

Regular bags can go into the trash can, but oddly enough, where this trash can really shines is through using the custom liners. I never thought I’d buy them, thought it was just a scam to get more money out of me, but they fit exceptionally well and more importantly they hold more and therefore I use less of them. In the end, we found we were actually break even if not saving a little bit of money by using the custom liners due to using less of them.

Q: Doesn't the rear bag refill compartment create an easy entryway for roaches and pests?

There is an opening in the back. Pests would have to crawl up to it and enter but once there, they would be sealed off from the trash as the bag compartment is behind the trash bag which is is fitted on very tightly. We’ve had no problems and are very happy with this trash can.

Q: How long is the power cord can it be used with a safety extension cord?
