The quality of the cat food that I purchase became of great importance to me after I lost my first cat to a disease that my vet said was triggered by, and worsened by, the cat food I was feeding him (Fancy Feast). So I begin doing research on what cats really need in their diet and the backgrounds and production of various cat foods on the market. Of everything I found, this brand “Orijen” always seemed to make the top five list of healthiest and most nutritious cat foods made with the highest quality ingredients as well as the best sourcing and production practices.Admittedly, there was another brand that was above ‘Orijen’ in these categories that I wanted to give my cats...but cats are picky, and they did not care for that brand too much...so I went to my second choice, which was ‘Orijen’.Ever since trying Orijen’s ‘Cat & Kitten’, we have never found another “go-to” food for the cats.They truly love this stuff. And as you can see in the video, I once got a bag home and (even though they had eaten that morning) they were more than happy to tear the bag open before I could even get to it. (usually I keep the cat food stored away in a cupboard).If you’re looking for a fragrant, dry food to attract your cats’ attention, this is definitely a go-to. Even with my human nose, as soon as I open the bag I can smell a powerful scent of cat food; it’s not an unpleasant smell, but it is certainly strong enough that a cat will know that the food is there.As my cats’ responsible human, I am happy with this food because it is responsibly sourced with cat’s health and humane practices in mind. More specifically, it is made of 85% animal ingredients including free-run chicken/turkey, wild-caught herring/flounder/sardines, and cage-free eggs; and 2/3 of their animal ingredients are “fresh or raw”. I am also encouraged by the fact that the first 16 ingredients listed on the bag are all whole animal sources; no fillers, supplements, fruits, veggies, or mysterious compounds.Additionally, taurine, which you must be wary of in cat food since it can be found in high quantities (particularly in low quality, high protein) cat food and cause health disorders in your pet, is found as a respectably small percentage of this food.I only wish that Orijen made wet cat food, since making sure cats get enough water is a very important thing. I did try to put some water on their dry food, but they didn’t like that.My answer to that was to buy a motion sensitive water dispenser, and buy them canned cat food on occasion from another respectable brand.With regard to price, yes it is rather expensive for a cat food. And getting used to it did take some time. However, after being told that I lost my first cat because of the low quality of the cat food I was feeding him (and I had no idea!), the peace of mind I get now from knowing that I am feeding my cats a properly nutritious food is priceless.Overall I am very happy with the brand and this flavor, and as you can see in the video and the picture of the damage done to the bag before I could open it and the cats are also very happy with it.(There’s a picture of the cat food in a bowl next to a lightbulb for reference on the size of the kibble).

I've been feeding my cats ORIJEN Six Fish for a while now, and I can confidently say it's one of the best cat foods on the market! The high-quality ingredients, including wild-caught fish and WholePrey nutrition, make me feel great about what I'm feeding my pets.My cats absolutely love the taste and eagerly wait for mealtime. Their coats have become shinier, and they seem more energetic since switching to this food. I also appreciate that it's grain-free and packed with protein, which aligns with their natural diet.The price may be a bit higher than some other brands, but the quality is well worth it. If you're looking for a nutritious, premium dry cat food, I highly recommend giving ORIJEN Six Fish a try!Would definitely buy again!

I am writing this review on a product that I never thought that I would write a review about but here I am. I was surprised that this kibble was very appealing looking, smelled good and the size of the kibble was perfect for a cats small mouth. The color of it is a medium brown and it was clearly a very good choice because this kibble is a high protein and no grain item. I feel that the quality of this product is as good as I expected it to be and my cat absolutely loves it! This is the easiest thing to feed her because it is nutritious and she just gobbles it up. If you want a great food for your pet you don’t have to do anything else except to buy it and try it.

Transitioning my 1.5-year-old cats from Orijen kitten food to the adult formula was seamless, and they've consistently thrived on it. They eagerly finish every meal, and we've experienced zero digestive issues or refusals. What's even more telling is that my picky senior cat, who usually sticks to her prescription kidney food, consistently chooses Orijen when given the option! A smaller bag typically lasts my three cats between three and four weeks. While it's an investment, the consistent health and enjoyment my cats show make this food absolutely worthwhile. I wholeheartedly recommend it for happy, healthy felines!

Just read the ingredients and compare them to what you’re currently feeding your cat. Maybe my cat is special, but he’s SO funny, intuitive, friendly, smart, sweet, and handsome. He was rescued by our granddaughter from an alleged crackhouse and they were going to shoot him and his sister but he was saved. He actually gives me hugs and lets me kiss him. When I happened upon this brand it was completely by accident. We were feeding him Purina, then Blue Buffalo. Just compare the ingredients. You’ll be amazed how healthy this food appears. The canned wet food is too expensive for me to justify, however. I still give him a little wet food but we’re working toward going exclusively to the dry Orijen Six Fish or Fit and Trim recipe. He loves them both!

Great food (perfect formed poops) but this is first food I’ve had out of 5 cats, that makes the feces really stink! I’ve used same liter for over 30 years (Fresh Step Multi-cat *NOT with Fabreeze) and I can tell you, it’s first time the liter doesn’t conquer the odor. I think I’ll go back to Blue Buffalo food, seems more balanced on our cats system.

This is the best food on the market for obligate carnivores such as cats and ferrets. Though it is marketed as a cat food, it is probably the best food you can get for ferrets. It is considered a “whole prey” diet because it contains ingredients that are similar to eating acutal animals. Among the first 16 ingredients, 13 are animal sourced. It also has some vegetable and fruit matter and lots of vitamins and even probiotics. In her old age, my fussy eater who had been eating 3 different kibbles decided she only likes this one. This made me very happy because this is the best food for her!
