I just received this book last night, so I haven't had an opportunity to carefully read it...just skimmed it...but I'm very impressed so far. It is quite comprehensive. So often, books of this sort only highlight the most popular or well-known chains, but Geary included even less well-known chains (e.g., Pup 'n Taco). I look forward to digging into this shortly. Well done.

What a wonderful journey through California restaurants. Great book by an amazing author. Many photos and fun facts. If you love California restaurant history this is a great book for you.

This book has all our old favorite eateries we thought were lost and wonderful history behind them.Gave this book as a Christmas gift and had so much fun with it. Might have to travel to some of the locations but that's fun too! Great gift for those who enjoy exploring and / or just reading about California's historic places.
