Ugh. The hinge was broken on both sides, so even if i glue it it is bound to fall apart again. I just taped it with gorilla tape for now because need this cage badly for my robo hamster!! I’ve never seen a water bottle like this. There is just a hole and it sits so high up, I’m not sure he can even reach it! I’m putting the food dish underneath the water bottle now & using the base of the pod for his food. Wheel is very loud and squeaky! Oh and he dropped straight down that tube! It should be at an angle! So I put some fluffy bedding halfway down to break his fall. Then he digs through it. I also added a tiny box and cut a mouse hole for him to hide. it wasn’t easy arranging his areas. I also cut a paper towel tube for him. It’s easier to transport him to the top part with that. Trying hard to make this all work.

I really wanted to like these cages.. I bought four to connect together. After receiving them though I have some major complaints. First, the water bottle sucks - you could easily upgrade to a better water bottle which could be mounted outside the cage giving the animal more room inside... but... there's no way to plug up the hole that the water bottle goes into. I mean, I'm sure where there's a will there's a way. But there's no easy way and because of the other issues it wouldn't be worth it. Second the wheel is too small for any animal that would be large enough not to be able to squeeze through the flimsy bars. Take that in for a minute.The extra loft thing that attaches on top... doesn't latch securely and while you could do something to keep it closed tight it would then become a pain to get into for cleaning or to visit with your animal. I mean... seriously... the two pieces of the latching mechanism don't meet up properly. On all four units I bought.The straight tubes on all four units don't come together right but I fixed that by shaving part of it off with a razor and then sanding.. before I realized all the other stuff.and last - and probably the worst of it - there's this HUGE gap in the top lid where someone could really easily jam their head through and get stuck. I'm attaching a photo of a toy mouse about the size of a Syrian hamster with its head jammed through the gap - keep in mind when viewing the photo that the lid is CLOSED this is what remains.I got a heck of a deal on these so I chose to keep them and use the tubes in my set up but I didn't even feel comfortable giving the cages away... they were that bad!http://s25.postimg.org/uuprx6gf3/IMG_0109.jpg

I got this in a Marshalls and it is in perfect condition the wires are not flimsy, the lookout tower is secure too. And my roborovski hamster can not fit through the bars, but the wheel is a good size that my hamster doesn't bend its back. The only thing that's not good is this is advertised as a cage for your hamster to live in its entire life. hamsters shouldn't have to live in a cage as small as this. You should buy at least two of these and connect them to make it acceptable for a hamster to live in its entire life.

If it were possible for me to rate this cage lower than one star, I would. The wheel is loud and squeaky, the water bottle does not dispense water well, and the tube and raised sleeping hatch is prone to falling off no matter how well you try to attach it. The plastic of the tube also cracked within a month of owning this piece of junk cage. My hamster has escaped twice from this cage due to the tube and upper hatch falling off. Do not buy!!

This cage is very simple and perfect for dwarf hamsters. The top den is detachable and you can use it to hold them while you clean it. This was my first cage I got it with me first eve hamster and I loved it. Of course it's simple to clean so it's good for children to learn the responsibility of cleaning the cages themselves as opposed to the other intricate cages being sold. A must buy for first timers at a good price.

this cage is really cheep the metal bends really easy the wheel is really loud and keeps me up at night sometime i need to put the cage in the other room because of the wheel i didnt get the right parts in the box and its really small im buying another one because i dont think my hamster is happy in there
