Piece of plastic
Ordered this camera over the weekend and received it few mins back; it is a piece of plastic. Took about 20 pictures inside my apartments to test the different features. The pictures were soft, lots of noise at high ISO and dark, not so great navigation.I have always been a canon fan, this was the first time i bought Sony digital point and shoot as i did not want to spend a lot. However i am highly disappointed with the quality of the camera and its pictures.Sony has used cheap material to build this model, which i never expected, and selling it at a price which i think is little too much for the quality of the camera; at this price there are many better camera in market than this model(Canon SD1300, Canon A3100). I am planning to return it but the seller is charging me 20% restocking fee, so even i am not happy with the camera it will cost me $$ to return it.The seller's customer service was not so friendly when i told them that i wanted to return the camera, the customer service guy over the phone said, " a camera is suppose to take pictures and this one does that so we do not find anything wrong with that". I will speak to their customer service manager tomorrow and see if they can take the camera back without charging the restocking fee. This was the first time i used Electronic Expo and i am planning not to order any item from them again. My recommendation : Do not buy this camera, it is a waste of your $$.

Best compact digital camera ever!
Actually I never even used the thing. Here in Kandahar, there are precisely 1 billion TCNs. If you're not familiar with the term, TCN stands for third country national. They aren't from NATO or ISAF nations, and aren't citizens of the host nation. Anyway, I digress..Whomever told the TCNs about Amazon deserves a swift karate chop in the throat because these dudes will come up to you day and night asking you to order stuff. It will be weird stuff that will have no apparent effect on their quality of life back home, but they MUST have the stuff for whatever reason. That said, it isn't easy telling the poor buggers no, so I end up spending a small truckload of money on this site each month. This camera is a prime example. The dude we're talking about in this case comes from a place where, I imagine, indoor plumbing probably doesn't exist yet, electricity may or may not be present, and his 25 kids most likely don't wear shoes.Who needs any of that when you've got a sweet new camera?? Now you can take photos of all the poverty and squalor and upload them to your favorite social networking site! Yay! Assuming first, of course, you hit somebody else up to order you a laptop, then you bothered another 4 guys for all the accessories, peripherals, carrying cases, etc. Once all those bases are covered, and you find a dialup connection somewhere in the village, you'll be living the TCN dream.I really would've liked to try this camera out, but at the end of the month when I see my credit card bill, I can't bring myself to spend money on the things I want. That's about the end of my rant I suppose. If you ever meet a TCN, thank him for keeping the US Postal Service alive, and ask if you can see his s***ty pictures. You get 10 extra points if he's wearing a US Polo Assn watch also ordered from Amazon. Out.

Great camera for the price and compact!
I went by the ratings and also word of mouth before buying this camera and I actually bought 2 cameras... one Panasonic Lumix 12 MP and this Sony 14.1 MP. Upon first site, the Panasonic appears to be built better. The buttons were larger and the camera was a little heavier. I thought, for sure, I'd keep the Panasonic. Well, after trying both of them simultaneously the Sony took better pictures. The Sony has a Carl Zeiss lense which is a very good lense. Of course, all cameras have brightness adjustments, etc, but the Sony knew when to let more light in when there was not enough light (great for dim light pics). I'm sure the Panasonic could do the same if you want to keep adjusting the lighting, but I want a camera that is going to take great pics with pointing and shooting and this camera does just that. The reason the imaging takes longer to see clearly on the LCD when you go back to view pics, I would assume, is because it is a 14.1 Mega Pixel (a lot of information) at a great price so it takes a 1/4 sec to focus the pic in clearly! I don't mind it. I'd rather have great pics when transporting them onto a computer, viewing them on the computer or TV or printing them. Also, when you go into a photo editor, the clarity is scary. You can see every little detail. If you want to spend another $30 there's also the Sony W350, which will allow for viewing high def videos on your high def TV, but I viewed a video I took with the W330 and the clarity is still great.

Sony always delivers
Cant beat it for the price. If this camera is priced at the top of your budget, then I highly recommend it. I like Sony in general and this is a great solid thin small camera with a nice side video display, good zoom and excellent quality. After the first picture came up on the display I was impressed with the clarity. I was able to take a great shot even in dim lighting. The pictures are clear and brightly lit on the display during playback. The menu features are simple to navigate. Switching from camera to video mode is easy with the slider button on the side and there are a lot of other cool features I still need to play with (e.g. smile detection, outdoor, pet, food etc). My only complaint would be that the battery life could last longer when using the video feature or during playback, but it does recharge quickly. When comparing it to other models for the same price on CNET.com overall the W330 received very good ratings and I agree.(CNET.com URL)[...](Amazon Product Link)Sony DSC-W330 14.1MP Digital Camera with 4x Wide Angle Zoom with Digital Steady Shot Image Stabilization and 3.0 inch LCD (Silver)
