Just get this one.
I have a $20 pinpointer (Dmyond DMY-03) and it's just ok. It lags a bit and makes finding targets a bit tedious, but still better than no pinpointer. The functionality/settings are simple and limited but hey, it's cheap and it works. Good as a backup or to lend out.If you detect often, or even if you're just starting out like me but want to take it seriously, just get the XP. It's fast, responsive, incredible battery life. The continuous tone option is way better than the intermittent beeps IMHO. I don't think any other pinpointer has that option. It's sleek and small and feels very high quality. Have used under the water with zero issues, and you can still hear the pitch if it's shallow enough. If not the vibrate works great. The French may be eccentric but they make nice stuff! (Mostly cookware).I have a couple of cons but not enough to remove a star. I think it's still good enough to deserve a perfect review.Cons:-Not USB C. This is annoying. What, the company can't update this one design element? They would literally just have to change one tiny thing, the charging port. It's not a deal breaker because it comes with a mini USB cable, but it makes me feel like I'm in 2005. That being said I have already used the pinpointer many times, for hours at a time, and the still have over 2/3 battery life. Eventually I'll have to recharge it but not that often even with heavy use. So I guess it's whatever.-The light blinks when it's off. How stupid is this? The light blinks once every 4 seconds when the device it powered off to let you know that it has a charge. It is a very dim blink but still, why program the device to have a low power drain "feature" when you want it off? This cannot be turned off. Super stupid.-Another gripe with the light is the battery level reading. Every time you turn it on, the device will give a certain number of blinks to let you know the battery level. If you have the flashlight set to off, it will not do this. So to check the battery level you have to go through the process of turning the pinpointer on and off a few times in the right sequences, and then turn the light off again. I don't use the light and want it off to conserve battery, so I have found this little quirk to be annoying. Why not just have it give the battery level every time you turn it on even if the flashlight is off? Considering the aforementioned constant intermittent blink when the light is off, this seems like they focused the power savings thinking process in the wrong way.

This is a great Pinpointer and it's waterproof!
Great pinpointer, the battery lasts for ever(so it seems) I like it that it is rechargeable and very sensitive. It is easy to use and functions well as a hand held metal detector.

Overall, very nice pinpointer
Been using the other "G"uys brand for years just because it worked. Got this XP because it it was rechargeable and looked like it was built better. When I received it, I was impressed at how thick and well built the pointer felt in my hand. The rubber handle goes half way up the device and offers plenty of room to hold it while looking for the objects in the hole. The upper half seems like very thick polymer and should withstand years of scraping around the plug for the treasure. The thickness of the polymer does not seem to affect the sensitivity of the device. Speaking of sensitivity, it has three settings and a de-tune feature for those times when the pointer gets too noisy or it feels like you cannot find what you are looking for. Overall it is great at finding even some of the smallest objects like that ridiculously annoying eyeglass frame screw that was the bane of my existence on a particular hunt. The battery life is very good and will last weeks for an occasional user but if you are a power user like I am who has spent 8-12 hours detecting, it will need to be charged daily. So far so good. The only problem I have I how you charge it. Instead of having a dust cover that can be slid to the side and plugged in, you have to actually take off the back round cover and plug a charger into the back. The method to get into the different menu options can be a bit overwhelming for a new user but once you learn what each button press does, it is a breeze to change the settings.Edit: this is my second XP pointer, and I am very pleased with the unit(s). Have not had any problems with the quality of the unit, detection ability, or battery life. The lost unit beeping function works great if you accidentally leave it behind after filling a plug. Too bad it didn't have a built in return home feature like some of those drones or the Iron Man suit because this wouldn't be my 2nd unit. The first unit is sitting at the bottom of a very steep cliff face somewhere...Highly recommend, would buy again and then again if this one disappeared.

Best pinpointer.
I did a lot of research on which pinpoint to buy, and I do believe this one is the best. It stands out from other pinpointers with its rechargeable batteries and monotone alarm. It also has a very far detecting range (probably about 3 inches), but this can be turned down if needed, as it has multiple levels to choose from. A bonus feature is that it has a flashlight that can be turned on and off unlike other pinpionters, which can be very helpful if you want to keep searching after the sun goes down. The only downside I can think of is that sometimes after a little use, it will uncalibrate itself so it beeps at everything, but this can be fixed by simply holding it up and pressing 1 button to re calibrate it through its ground balance feature. I have recieved no interference using this pinpointer with the 2 minelab detectors I own. Highly recommend If you want a good pinpointer. Love the monotone feature its much better than beeping and vibrating. (it can be switched to that if you prefer that though).

Mi4??? Or Mi6???
Besides the weird plug, definitely a great pinpointer. Mi6 has a newer plug usbc but unless you want to interface with your deus 2 kinda pointless. Same pinpointer less money. My detector is a minlab and does not put up any interference when powered on. Good depth if setup right. All around great pinpointer. Definitely something you have to learn hot and cold settings to get right but plenty youtube tutorials that can have you all good in under 10 mins.....

Sensitive and well made.
This is far and away superior to the Garrrett Carrot, anything from Minelab. It’s sensitive and you get a real feel how close you are to the object, best of all it’s rechargeable. Only gripe is the belt holder is a bit flimsy. Batteries last forever.
