I was all excited about these berries as soon as I heard about them. I saw the recommendation to put a bowl out in a pub like pretzels and peanuts so I was expecting something palatable, but I guess they meant to dare your friends to eat them after y'all were drunk lol. They're going to get eaten eventually but in the future, I will get my Sea Buckthorn benefits from a tasteless capsule. Shipping was fast.

I just came back from Kazakhstan where sea buckthorn is a favorite ingredient in their fruit teas. There the dried berries are orange and plump with a sour fruit taste that complements fresh citrus very well. The berries were similar in Armenia when I was there a while ago. I bought these as soon as I got back. They are dark brown and very dry with the skin cracked and flaking. No flavor at all, just a dusty sourness. I don't recommend them to you.

When we were in Copenhagen, eating oysters there was a vinaigrette that the Danes made from sea buckthorn berries. I loved it! When I came home I made it from the recipe the chef gave me. Yum!

It is supposed to be a very good supplement, but every time I take them out of the bag, my husband will ask: what is the bad smell?

These may have nutrition benefits, but they taste so terrible they are nearly inedible. I don't think there is anything wrong with the product, but no one could possibly enjoy the taste. Sour, nasty, bad-smelling (like valerian, dirty socks flavor.) Plus, they're very expensive. I will stick with the Sea Buckthorn oil capsules from now on.
